The Denouément

Here it is then folks, the culmination of all our efforts.

ManFlick Productions Presents,

Witness

This version of Witness is the piece to be sent to our examiners. Unfortunately we only had 2 minutes to work with so it has been cut down, however ManFlick doesn't give up that easy! We have created a longer director's cut which will be available soon on Facebook and YouTube.

Evaluation

Having finally completed the entire project of filming and editing the film, we can now evaluate it. On the slideshow below is my written evaluation and we will be following this up with a video evaluation too and directors commentary too.

The Editing Stage

We recently began to edit the footage we have captured into our final cut of the film. This has been made very much easier due to the rough drafts we made during filming.

We are using FinalCut Express 4 to edit the film because it is a very professional piece of software and allows us to use a lot of effects to change the way the film is received.

We hope to knock out all of the editing in a long one day session and then we can move onto evaluating the film itself.

The Witness Score

We have just finished creating the musical score to the film. It is a completely original piece composed by Oli Clubb of our group.

It begins in a quiet manner with a repeated piano series and then becomes frantic when our killer encounters the photographer.

We hope it will add a really professional touch to our film because it is all written to accompany the film and therefore does so perfectly. If we had used pre written music or GarageBand loops then things would have been less of a match and therefore not as good.

And On The 7th Day God Rested, But ManFlick Persevered

We finally got our 7th and final day of filming done and now all we have left to do is edit the footage into our final cut. Restrictions on time, car availability and weather had delayed this shoot for some time but now that we have completed it we all breathed a collective sigh of relief!

The day began badly with rain meaning we would have some continuity errors. In an ideal world we would have waited to do this shoot on another day, however car problems forced our hand. Unfortunately Elanor,
the car our killer drives had recently failed her M.O.T. and would be unfit for the road after a day. This meant that we had to shoot on this date and decided that if the footage was unuseable then we would have to deal with it.

After a small pause in the rain we managed to get a few shots done, but then it returned when we wanted to film some exterior shots, obviously posing a problem because of the risk of damage to the camera. This was quickly overcome through use of a ManFlick/Blue Peter style bodge job to protect the camera from the rain.
